The third is failing to grasp that for many firms the transition will inevitably be highly disruptive to their production processes. The second is assuming all firms will otherwise turn over their capital stocks in the next 29 years. But given this plan вЂ“ if you can even call it that вЂ“ involves not a single new policy decision, one wonders what exactly has been going on behind closed doors in Canberra. After weeks of internal machinations, the government has finally committed to net zero by 2050, and presented its plan to get there.
